The end of the beginning...

So this is it. Two years of my life wrapped up in one single day. One elaborate, lavish and totally boring ceremony. Funny, i have no emotions about graduating. I went through the whole awards day feeling indifferent. Like it's just another function i have to sit through and try to be still without fidgeting. Oh i tried to sneak off to the cafe halfway, but got caught by abang Lan mid-way. So back to the hall it was. After the whole thing, there was group photographs according to sponsors. That was when the families started mingling, and we were all meetin each others parents. I go over to hwee yin who is standing beside two ladies. Being the well-mannered malaysian that i am, i turn to them and say hello aunty and have a short conversation. Hwee yin then takes me aside and says, do u know who those people are?...they are our sponsors dear.not your aunty!oh crap, i always find ways to embarass myself. i hope my 'hello aunty' was drowned out by the chaos in the hall.

In one of the speeches, the chairman of UEM berhad said, 'Distinguished guests, your children have attended what is ARGUABLY the best college for alevels in malaysia.' hmmm...it's pretty arguable i think. Eventhough our tagline is, KYUEM your preferred partner in education excellence, a handful of students who paid a bomb to attend it did not get universities that they wanted or received no offers at all. Quite sad. But alevels there is an experience like no other. Two whole years spent there is enough to make you want to move on to the next phase of life.

Yesterday was totally random. After lugging all my stuff through the blazing hot sun and loaded up the car, i was all packed and ready to move out of college for good. Waving goodbye left and right, it was hell trying to get out of college with the roads so clogged up with cars. Back to kl. I had my usual dinner at murni and ran into aimran there. Some maxis people were advertising the new ten deal. Perched by the roadside spray painted silver, ten of them looked very mannequin like. Then it was quick trip to ice bar where i froze my ass off taking shots of vodka. Sometimes i wonder why i'm going to the Uk and not australia. Next stop was dharm's place for drinks with intec boys. And a never-ending football match at the nearby mamak after that. Living the Malaysian life. No complaints from me.
